TAMPAN Lifts Ban On Nkechi Blessing After Public Apology
Actress Nkechi Blessing has reconciled with the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) three years after being suspended from the organization.

Gatekeepers News reports that the controversy started in 2021 when Blessing engaged in a public dispute with actor Kehinde Adams, known as Lege Miami, regarding the arrest of another actor, Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha faced conviction for assaulting a minor, and Blessing’s subsequent criticisms of TAMPAN led to her suspension.

Blessing publicly apologised to TAMPAN during the Nigerian Canadian Celebrities Entertainment Awards held in Toronto.

A now-viral video shows the 35-year-old actress kneeling before Bolaji Amusan, known as Mr. Latin, who is the president of TAMPAN, in her plea for forgiveness.

In her apology, Blessing recognised the significant role TAMPAN has played in her career and expressed both gratitude and remorse for her previous actions.

“I am deeply sorry for all I did. I am so sorry. I beg you from the bottom of my heart to please forgive me. I appreciate the industry. You all made me who I am today. I would not be anyone if not because of you,” she said.

Mr. Latin and his colleague, Odunlade Adekola took to the stage to embrace Blessing. Odunlade commended Blessing for acknowledging her mistakes.

Mr. Latin also welcomed Blessing back into the association, commending her “courage” in a post on Instagram.

“I commend and admire your courage… welcome on board!!!” he wrote.
