Sir Rod Stewart has expressed concerns about the condition of roads near his home, which has led him to consider finding new owners for his five sports cars.
Gatekeepers News reports that the 79-year-old singer-songwriter, known for hits such as “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy,” “You’re In My Heart,” “Hot Legs,” and “Maggie May,” has taken action in the past by personally addressing potholes on his road in Harlow, Essex.
In 2022, he shared a video showcasing his efforts alongside a team as they shovelled gravel into numerous potholes after an ambulance experienced a tyre burst, causing damage to other vehicles.
On Wednesday, Sir Rod wrote on Instagram: “I am extremely fortunate and eternally grateful to be the owner of these five beautiful hybrid sports cars, which, in my opinion, are true ‘works of art.’
“Unfortunately, because of the potholes on our roads, I may have to find new owners for them.
“I’ve been driving these iconic Italian cars since the 70s, and I absolutely love and adore them.
“This post is for my fans – thank you, as you are the sole reason I own them.
“And to all the trolls… don’t bother; I never read the comments.”
Sir Rod has also been vocal about political issues. Last year, he voiced his discontent with the Conservative government, suggesting that it should “stand down.”
He has also shown support for nurses during their strikes, referring to their situation within the NHS as “heartbreaking.” Sir Rod Stewart continues to tour, with upcoming performances in Spain and Denmark next month.
