Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali’s father is dead.
Gatekeepers News reports that the footballer announced his father’s death through a post on his Instagram story on Friday morning.
The 2024 CAF Goalkeeper of the Year award nominee wrote, “RIP Dad. Rest in Heaven.”
The cause of his father’s death is unknown as the goalkeeper didn’t speak about it.
This came a few hours after the Super Eagles scored a 1-1 draw against Benin Republic in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification match.
Other members of the Nigeria team sent Nwabali commiseration messages over his loss.
Players like William Troost-Ekong, Victor Boniface, Moses Simon, and Amas Obasogie posted condolences on social media.
