Operatives of Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a man suspected of vote-buying during Ondo State governorship election held on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
Gatekeepers News reports that the vote buyer was arrested at Ward 4, Polling Unit 007, near St. Stephen’s Primary School in Akure, the state capital.
Eyewitness footage recorded DSS personnel alongside bystanders ordering the suspect to open the boot of his Toyota Camry car. Upon opening the vehicle, two large ‘Ghana-must-go’ bags containing large sums of cash intended to sway voters were discovered in the trunk.
DSS operatives then apprehended the suspect, escorted him into a white bus, and left the scene.
