Nigerian Air Force (NAF) airstrikes conducted in Babban Kauye village, Tsafe Local government area (LGA) of Zamfara state, killed several bandits and destroyed their hideouts.

Gatekeepers News reports that NAF’s director of public relations and information, Olusola Akinboyewa in a statement released on Sunday, said the airstrikes were conducted on Friday, November 15, 2024, as part of Operation Fansan Yamma.

Akinboyewa said the strikes were based on intelligence that bandits in the area were planning coordinated attacks against civilians and military personnel along Tsafe axis.

The director noted that the bombardment killed several bandits, including key associates of Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule, notorious kingpins.

He said, “These airstrikes targeted a large gathering of bandits in Babban Kauye village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.”

“Ground reports confirmed the elimination of several high-ranking members of the bandit groups, significantly weakening their operational capacity.”

“Tsafe has been a hotspot for bandit activities, with factions linked to Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule notorious for violent attacks on local communities, security forces, and critical infrastructure.”

“These groups have long used remote areas like Babban Kauye as safe havens to plan and launch their operations.”

“The NAF remains committed, alongside other security agencies, to eliminating threats posed by terrorists and bandits in our country.”

Akinboyewa reiterated the military’s determination to stabilise the region and secure the nation.
