John Legend has marked the 20th anniversary of his debut album, ‘Get Lifted,’ with the release of an expanded version featuring 26 tracks.
Gatekeepers News reports that this announcement was made through an Instagram post on Friday.
The original ‘Get Lifted’ album was released in 2004 and has since become a celebrated project in Legend’s career. To commemorate this milestone, Legend has released a 20th Anniversary Edition that includes all the original songs, along with new remixes featuring various artists and some unreleased demos from the early 2000s.
The revamped edition includes a remix of ‘Ordinary People,’ featuring Nigerian singer Tems.
Tems previously delivered a standout performance of the song in 2021, and she had the opportunity to perform it live with Legend during her ‘Born in the Wild’ US tour in September.
The debut album, ‘Get Lifted,’ achieved significant commercial success, reaching the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart. It has earned multiple awards, including double platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and three Grammy awards.
