Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the English Premier League (EPL) to nine points after defeating Manchester City 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday.
Gatekeepers News reports that Cody Gapko opened the scoring in the first half, and Mohamed Salah sealed the win with a penalty in the second half. The victory marked Liverpool’s 10th win in 13 matches, taking their tally to 34 points.
Manchester City, on the other hand, suffered their fourth consecutive EPL defeat this season, dropping to fifth position. The defeat marked a new low for manager Pep Guardiola.
In other EPL matches, Manchester United won their first match under new manager Ruben Amorim, defeating Everton 4-0. Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee scored two goals each to secure the win.
Chelsea also moved joint-second with 25 points after dismantling Aston Villa 3-0.
