Vice-President Kashim Shettima has emphasised the importance of maximising the value of Nigeria’s core assets to benefit its citizens.

Gatekeepers News reports that Shettima made the remarks during the 4th meeting of the National Council on Privatisation (NCP), held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He highlighted that these core assets play a crucial role in advancing the economic agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“He urged members to provide constructive leadership for Nigerians, cautioning that posterity would judge them kindly if they made efforts to be fair to the citizens,” the statement reads.

Shettima said the council’s work has never been more important, given the nation’s current economic challenges.

“The work of this Council has never been more important, especially given our current economic climate,” he said.

“Maximizing value from core national assets is a key tenet of the economic agenda of President @officialABAT.”

The vice-president added that the council must play its role in unlocking the national prosperity that Tinubu strives for daily.
