President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after attending the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission in Cape Town, South Africa, where he co-chaired the meeting alongside South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Gatekeepers News reports that he arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 9:10 PM, where he was welcomed by key officials including Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory; Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President; and Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser.
The reception also included the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Peter Opara.
During the high-level discussions held at the Bi-National Commission, participants engaged in deliberations across eight working groups that addressed critical areas of mutual interest. These areas included political consultations, consular and migration issues, banking and finance, defence and security, manufacturing, the social sector, mines and energy, as well as trade and investments.
After the meeting, officials from both countries signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding and agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation. The Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission, established in 1999, serves to reinforce the friendship and collaboration between the two nations.
