Muslim Media Group Commends Tinubu On Appointment Of New DG of NIALS

Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the appointment of a qualified and competent Academic as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies [NIALS] Abuja.

Gatekeepers News reports that Federal Government yesterday announced the appointment of a Former Dean of the Faculty of Law of University of Ilorin Professor Abdulkadir Ibrahim Abikan as the Director-General of Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. He succeeds Professor Muhammad Taofiq Ladan whose term of office expired few months ago.

MMWGN commended the president on the appointment through a Statement released to the press on Friday by National Coordinator of the Group, Alh. Ibrahim Abdullahi.

It described the appointment as well-deserved – bearing in mind the intellectual achievements of Professor Abikan and his capacity and integrity to hold the office – describing him as ‘a round-peg in a round hole’.

The Group also praised the Nation’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN for his courage in taking the ‘right step in the right direction and at the right time’ describing him as a great Asset to Tinubu Administration.

The Media Group recalled the achievements of the Minister on the Local Governments’ Administrative & Financial Autonomy and dismissal of the suits calling for scrapping of Economic & Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] by some State Governments which were all diligently and efficiently handled at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, adding that the victories obtained on the two suits were to the benefit of all Nigerians.

The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria prayed for more success for the Federal Ministry of Justice and the entire spectrum of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration.
