2034 FIFA World Cup: Saudi Arabia Named Host

Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has confirmed Saudi Arabia as the host of 2034 FIFA World Cup.

Gatekeepers News reports that FIFA made the announcement at an online FIFA Congress on Wednesday.

Saudi Arabia submitted the sole bid for the competition and 200 FIFA member federations approved of it in the virtual event.

According to the president of the association, Gianni Infantino; the vote of the congress was loud and clear.

FIFA also ratified the decision to hold the 2030 World Cup across six countries on three continents. Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will co-host the six-nation project, with Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay each getting one of the 104 games.

The South American connection will mark the centenary of Uruguay hosting the first World Cup in 1930.

The World Cup was first held in 1930 and hosted by Uruguay.
