Chelsea had a 2-1 win over Brentford in their English Premier League (EPL) match at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Gatekeepers News reports that goals from Marc Cucurella and Nicholas Jackson sealed the victory for the Blues, despite Bryan Mbeumo’s late consolation goal for Brentford.
Cucurella put Chelsea in the lead on 43 minutes, latching on to Noni Madueke’s cross to head into the net.
Jackson who collected Enzo Fernandes’ pass smashed an unstoppable shot into the net,
scoring the other goal in the 80th minute.
Chelsea dominated the match, with more than double the shots attempted and on target compared to their opponents. The win takes Chelsea to 34 points from 16 matches, just two points behind the leading club, Liverpool.
In another thrilling match, Manchester United staged a stunning comeback to win the Manchester derby 2-1 against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.
Amad Diallo was the hero, winning a penalty that Bruno Fernandes converted and then scoring the winner two minutes later. The victory marked United’s first win at the Etihad in four attempts.
Tottenham Hotspur also enjoyed a resounding 5-0 win over Southampton, with all goals scored in the first half.
