Senate President Godswill Akpabio has announced that the Nigerian government plans to extend the lifespan of the 2024 budget until June 2025.
Gatekeepers News reports that this announcement was made during a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Akpabio explained that the extension is part of an ongoing process aimed at facilitating the full implementation of the capital component of the budget.
“Given these great achievements, we have deemed it necessary to extend the live of the 2024 budget to June 30, 2025.
“The enabling law for this extension has already been put in place by this patriotic Assembly, as a testament to our appreciation for the great performance of the budget, ensuring we build upon your momentum,” Akpabio said.
