A magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti has set bail for human rights activist Dele Farotimi at N30 million.
Gatekeepers News reports that this decision was made by Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun during a ruling on Farotimi’s bail application on Friday.
The conditions for the bail stipulate that Farotimi must provide two sureties who are recognized as responsible citizens.
Also, he is required to surrender his international passport to the court.
During the duration of the case, Farotimi is also prohibited from granting media interviews.
The accusations against Farotimi stem from a book he authored, titled “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System,” in which he is alleged to have “criminally defamed” senior advocate of Nigeria, Afe Babalola.
This is a developing story…
