Troops Arrest Two Suspected Gunrunners

Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Plateau state have arrested two suspected gunrunners during a sting operation in Bokkos town.

Gatekeepers News reports that this was announced by Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency publication focused on Lake Chad region.

Makama said the suspects who are Kenneth Mayas, 31, and Bulus Yilfo, 60, were arrested on Friday at a hideout in the White House Hotel while attempting to purchase an AK-47 rifle for N1.45 million.

It noted that military sources said the suspects are from the Forop district in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau, adding that the troops recovered N1.45 million during the operation.

The publication further said that the suspects and the recovered cash are in custody for interrogation, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate.
