Anambra State Police Command has recovered vehicle belonging to the kidnapped lawmaker, representing Onitsha North Constituency 1 in House of Assembly, Justice Azuka.
Gatekeepers News reports that the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga announced this in a statement released on Thursday in Onitsha.
Ikenga noted that the vehicle recovery followed an ongoing intensive operation by the command’s operatives attached to Inland Town Division, Onitsha.
He said that the lawmaker was kidnapped by gunmen at about 9:20 pm on December 24, on his way home on Ugwunabampa Road, Onitsha.
He further noted that a rescue team sighted the vehicle abandoned on Upper Iweka Road. I
Commissioner of Police, Mr Nnaghe Itam charged the rescue team to intensify efforts for possible rescue of the lawmaker and arrest of the kidnappers.
