Romeo And Juliet Star – Olivia Hussey Is Dead

Olivia Hussey, veteran British actress best known for her role as Juliet in the 1968 film “Romeo and Juliet” directed by Franco Zeffirelli is dead.

Gatekeepers News reports that the actress died on Friday, December 27 2024 at the age of 73.

Olivia began acting at the young age of 15. Her breakthrough role was as ‘Juliet’ in the Oscar-winning adaptation of William Shakespeare’s tragedy where she starred alongside Leonard Whiting.

She has appeared in other movies like “The Last Valley”, The Summertime Killer”, “Black Christmas”, “Death on the Nile”, and “Psycho IV: The Beginning”.

Olivia is survived by her husband, David Glen Eisley three children; Alexander, Maximillian, and India, and her grandson.

The deceased friend and filmmaker, Marc Huestis confirmed her death in a statement released, noting that the cause is believed to be cancer.

The statement reads, “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Olivia Hussey Eisley, who went peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on December 27th.”

“Olivia was a remarkable person whose warmth, wisdom, and pure kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.”

“Born on April 17, 1951, in Buenos Aires, Olivia lived a life full of passion, love, and dedication to the arts, spirituality, and kindness towards animals.”
