Adamawa Govt Empowers 84 Cooperative Societies With Farm Input

Adamawa State Government has supported 84 registered cooperative societies in the state with farming input to boost agricultural production.

Gatekeepers News reports that speaking at the farm inputs distribution in Yola, the state Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta said that more than 1,000 members of the cooperative societies who were mostly women would directly benefit from the gesture.

She said, “The government will continue to show commitment towards provision of welfare services to the weakest segment of our society.”

“The state government recently approved the release of funds to the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development for an Information Communications Technology (ICT) training tagged: “Fintiri Digital Training.”

Farauta noted that the training scheduled to be held in the middle of January would benefit 50 unemployed youth from the 21 council areas in the state.

She said, “The training will cover Digital Marketing, Web Development, Graphic Design and Modern Workplace Digital Communications.”

Hammanjumba Gatugel, Commissioner for Entrepreneurship Development said the inputs included organic and inorganic fertilisers, agrochemicals, maize, and rice seedlings.

Gatugel noted that the gesture was aimed at supporting the beneficiaries to improve their production and become self-resistant employers of labour.

He said the intervention is one of the series of Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri interventions that is impacting positively on the lives of the citizens.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hamid Sabondale expressed happiness for the gesture and appealed for its sustenance.
