Dalyce Curry, an actress recognised for her performances in notable films such as ‘Blues Brothers’, ‘Lady Sings the Blues’, and ‘The 10 Commandments’, has passed away at the age of 95.

Gatekeepers News reports that her remains were discovered following the destruction of her home in Altadena due to a wildfire.

The Eaton Fire, which severely impacted areas east of Los Angeles, led to widespread evacuations in Altadena and Pasadena, resulting in significant property damage.

Curry’s granddaughter shared the news of her passing in a post on Facebook. She noted that she had last visited her grandmother on Tuesday, January 7, before the wildfire started later that day.

Upon returning to check on Dalyce Curry the following day, her granddaughter found police barricades preventing access to the area. An officer informed her that the property had been destroyed and directed her to a nearby civic centre that was sheltering individuals displaced by the fire.

After thorough searches yielded no result, authorities confirmed on Sunday, January 12, that Dalyce Curry had perished inside her home during the fire.

Her passing is among at least 24 fatalities linked to the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.
