On Monday, rights activist Omoyele Sowore was questioned at the Force Intelligence Bureau in Abuja regarding a recent video that went viral, in which he accused several police officers of extortion.
Gatekeepers News reports that the video depicted an incident in which Sowore had a confrontation with officers who stopped a vehicle transporting him to the airport on the Murtala Muhammed Airport Road in Lagos State.
Sowore alleged that the officers were involved in illegal activities during this interaction. The public outcry following the video’s release led to the police inviting him for further questioning.
Sowore arrived at the Force Intelligence Bureau accompanied by his lawyers and several supporters, who expressed solidarity through songs.
