Joint Admissions and Matriculation
Board (JAMB) has suspended law admissions in eight tertiary institutions.

Gatekeepers News reports that the affected institutions are Kwara State University, Bingham University in Nasarawa;
Redeemers University in Osun, and Western Delta University in Delta State.

Others are Taraba State University, Arthur Jarvis University in Cross River, Alex Ekwueme Federal University in Ebonyi State, and Nigerian Police Academy in Kano State.

Fabian Benjamin, JAMB spokesman who made the announcement, said students will not be admitted to law programs at the universities for 2025/2026.

According to Benjamin; the decision follows the suspension of the LL.B programme in these institutions by the Council of Legal Education (CLE) for the period.

He noted that the suspension of law programme at Nigerian Police Academy will extend beyond 2025/2026 academic session, covering 2026/2027 session as well.

The criteria for the suspension were however not disclosed.
