Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has revoked the air operator certificates of Eastwind Aviation Logistics Services Limited and Omni-Blu Aviation.
Gatekeepers News reports that NCAA announced this in a post on its X account on Friday.
It wrote, “The Authority has determined that both Omni-Blu Aviation and Eastwind Aviation are in violation of Part 1.2.1.5 of Nig. CARs on Falsification, Reproduction, or Alteration of Applications, Licences, Certificates, Logbooks, Reports, or Records.”
“Part 1.2 1.5(b) of Nig. CARs provide the sanction for such fraud as revocation of the certificate.”
“Consequently, the respective Air Operator Certificates OBA/AOC/12-15/002 and EAL/AOC/03-24/001 are hereby revoked.”
Recall that a helicopter operated by Eastwind Aviation, carrying 8 people crash-landed off the coast of Bonny Finima in Atlantic Ocean on October 24, and there was no survival.
A helicopter belonging to Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and operated by Omni-Blu Aviation also on 18 April 2021, was reportedly grounded by NCAA over safety issues.
NCAA on 28, January announced that Max Air would suspend operations for 3 months on January 31 after its aircraft crash-landed at Mallam Aminu International Airport, Kano state. There were no casualties.
NCAA said the suspension of operations will enable Max Air to conduct an internal appraisal of its operations.
It also disclosed that Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has launched a probe into the landing gear failure.
