Real Madrid has been drawn against Manchester City in the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League (UCL) play-off round.
Gatekeepers News reports that the two clubs were paired together at the draw held on Friday at House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.
The UCL play-off round features teams that finished outside the top eight in the new league format and failed to secure automatic qualification for the second round.
While the bottom eight teams were eliminated, the clubs that finished between 9th and 24th place were paired against each other for the play-off. Winners from the play-offs will progress into the round of 16 of the competition.
Real Madrid finished 11th in the preliminary stage, narrowly missing automatic qualification by one point, while Man City got into the play-off spot with a win over Club Brugge in the final match of the league stage.
Bayern Munich will play against Celtic while Atalanta will play against Club Brugge in other match-ups in the play-offs.
Paris Saint-German will take on Brestois FC, Juventus get PSV, and AC Milan will play Feyernood.
The first legs of the play-offs are scheduled to be held on February 11, with the return legs scheduled for a week later.
