Brian Murphy, English actor best known for his role in the TV series ‘Man About The House’ is dead.
Gatekeepers News reports that he passed away in his house in Kent, England at the age of 92 on Sunday.
Linda Regan, Murphy’s wife announced his demise in a post on X. She shared a heartwarming photo of them and expressed her unending love for him.
She wrote, “My love for you will never die. RIP Sweetheart.”
Thomas Bowington, Murphy’s agent also took to Instagram to pay his tribute. He described Murphy as a “sprinkler of joy” on and off stage who will be deeply missed.
He added that Murphy featured in his last television series in November and December 2024.
The agent wrote, “Our client, Brian Murphy has died at the age of 92. Brian filmed his last television series back in November and December last year.”
“A sprinkler of joy on as well as off stage! A truly great actor and man! Greatly missed!”
Murphy began his career in the arts in the 1950s as a member of the pioneering Theatre Workshop.
He became popular in 1973 when he was cast as landlord George Roper in the ITV series ‘Man About The House’.
Murphy is survived by Regan whom he married in 1995, and Trevor and Kevin, his two children from his previous marriage to Carol Gibson.
