North East Development Commission (NEDC), on Wednesday, donated essential office equipment to the governors’ forum within the region to aid its operations.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Commission work closely with State governors from the region and also made donations to ease the operations of its coordinating office based in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEDC Mohammed Alkali made the donation to the Director General of North East Governor’s Forum Alh. Umar Gulani at the Commission’s headquarters in Maiduguri.
According to Alkali “We had donated a vehicle to the North East Governor’s Forum and this time around we’re supporting the Forum with some office equipment to assist them discharge their functions effectively.”
Items donated include an Air Conditioning System, Laptop computers, Industrial Printer and Paper Shredding Machines.
Meanwhile, the pioneer MD/CEO of the newly established North-West Development Commission (NWDC) Prof. Abdullahi Ma’aji has commended NEDC for its positive impact in the North East Region through the implementation of people projects.
“NEDC’s position as a role model in the field of regional development, the North-West Development Commission (NWDC) seeks to learn from the wealth of experience and effective strategies NEDC has deployed over the years to advance the development of the North-East Zone after years of devastation due to the Boko Haram insurgency,” Prof. Ma’aji said during a visit to NEDC liaison office in Abuja.
