Joseph Adelaja has assumed office as new area comptroller for Oyo/Osun Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
Gatekeepers News reports that Adelaja succeeds Dr. Ben Oramalugo, who has been transferred to the Seme border.
This was announced in a statement signed by the command’s newly posted Public Relations Officer (PRO), Abdumalik Akintola on Saturday.
NCS noted that Comptroller Adelaja will oversee the command’s operations, including revenue generation, anti-smuggling efforts, and enforcement of customs regulations.
The Oyo/Osun Area Command has been active in combating smuggling and generating revenue for the government, with a notable achievement of generating over eighty-two billion naira in 2024.
The new comptroller assured that he would build on the successes of his predecessor while introducing new strategies to enhance the command’s performance.
