Gunmen have abducted a farm manager and two Industrial Training students working at a farm in Oke Oge, Oba Ile, Akure North Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State.
Gatekeepers News reports that a source revealed that the farm, located near the Akure Airport, is owned by a former commissioner in the state and specializes in pepper and tomato cultivation.
The source said, “Those kidnapped are students undergoing their Industrial Training at the farm. It’s a pepper and tomatoes farm belonging to a former commissioner.”
Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye confirmed the incident on Sunday, 9 February 2025.
The commander noted that security operatives had been deployed to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
According to a family source; the kidnappers have reached out to them and demanded a ₦15m ransom for the victims’ release.
