Lucky Aiyedatiwa has officially been inaugurated as the governor of Ondo State, commencing his first full four-year term.
Gatekeepers News reports that the inauguration ceremony occurred on Monday at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital, following his victory in the recent governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) two months prior.
During the ceremony, Aiyedatiwa took his oath of office shortly after his running mate, Olayide Adelami, at approximately 12:59 PM.
Aiyedatiwa served as the Deputy Governor since 2020 when he was elected alongside Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. He assumed the governorship position following the death of Akeredolu on December 27, 2023, at the age of 67, after a long battle with prostate cancer, leading to Aiyedatiwa’s succession in office.
