Presiding judge of Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Justice Rahman Oshodi has dismissed a request for his recusal from the ongoing trial of Godwin Emefiele.

Gatekeepers News reports that the lead counsel to the CBN governor, Mr Olalekan Ojo SAN had on February 24, asked the judge to recuse himself on grounds of bias.

Delivering his ruling on Wednesday, Justice Oshodi held that the allegations of bias raised by the defence were unsubstantiated, adding that there was no evidence to justify his withdrawal from the case.

The judge ruled that the application lacked merit and subsequently dismissed it.
