South-East PDP Re-Elects Ali Odefa As National Vice Chairman

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the south-east has re-elected Ali Odefa as its national vice-chairman.

Gatekeepers News reports that Odefa was re-elected during the party’s zonal congress held on Wednesday at Michael Okpara Square in Enugu.

Other executive members elected include James Ugwu as zonal secretary, Regina Uchebo as zonal treasurer, Cornelius Ugwu as zonal organising secretary, and Madubuike Okoro as financial secretary.

The rest are Chigozie Igwe as publicity secretary, Dominic Nwankwo as legal adviser, Ifeyinwa Arodiogbo as woman leader, Godswill Nwanoruo as zonal youth leader, and Augustine Ezeanya as zonal auditor.

Odefa was elected hours after a federal high court in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi state, affirmed his expulsion from the party.

PDP executive committee in Oguduokwor ward, Onicha LGA of Ebonyi had on October 2024, suspended him over alleged anti-party activities.

A federal high court in Ebonyi upheld Odefa’s suspension as national vice-chairman of the opposition party in the south-east in October.

The ward executives expelled Odefa in December, following the recommendation of a disciplinary committee that affirmed the allegations of anti-party activities against him.

PDP NWC rejected Odefa’s suspension and expulsion on January 15, describing it as “null and void”.
