Gunmen Abduct 4 Students Near Katsina Varsity

Suspected gunmen have abducted four (4) students in Katsina state.

Gatekeepers News reports that the gunmen stormed Paris Quarters, behind Federal University Dutsinma around 2:20 am on Sunday.

Local sources told TheCable that the assailants, reportedly in large numbers, whisked away four individuals.

According to reports; the victims include Wali Kayode (25), Fahad Muhammad (20), Emmanuel (surname unknown), and a yet-to-be-identified person.

Security operatives were mobilised to the scene after a distress call was put across but the bandits had fled before their arrival.

Security sources said efforts are ongoing to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims safely.

This is not the first time students have been abducted in the North. Gunmen attacked Greenfield University in Kaduna state in April 2021, abducting at least 20 students and two staff members.

Sadly, three of the kidnapped students were found dead days later, while the remaining 14 students were released after spending over a month in captivity.

In the same month, gunmen kidnapped students from Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi, Benue state.

At least nine (9) students were kidnapped from their classrooms at Confluence University in Kogi state in May 2024.

Gunmen abducted about four (4) female students from Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University in Makurdi, Benue state in February 2025.
