Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted earlier reports suggesting that David Shikfu Parradang, former Comptroller-General of Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) was murdered by gunmen in Abuja.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to the police in a statement by SP Josephine Adeh, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Command on Tuesday; Parradang was discovered deceased in his hotel room.
Adeh noted that Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel in Abuja’s Area 3 Junction on March 3, 2025, around noon.
The CG paid ₦22,000 for a one-night stay. He was later visited by a female guest who departed around 4:00 PM.
Mr. Parradang did not exit his room after the lady left. Around 04:00 AM of 04 March 2025, a friend who is a military officer, concerned for his wellbeing, traced him to the hotel. Upon arrival, the hotel receptionist and the officer proceeded to his room, where Mr. Parradang was found deceased, seated in a chair.
The Durumi Police Station was notified, and officers promptly arrived at the scene, secured the area, took photographs, and collected all relevant evidence to preserve the integrity of the crime scene.
The command’s spokesperson noted that the deceased’s body has been transferred to National Hospital for necessary procedures, and hotel staff are currently cooperating with Police investigations.
She added that effort is in top gear to effect the arrest of the lady who visited the former CG.
The command urged the public and media outlets to avoid disseminating unverified information that could cause undue alarm.
The statement added, “The authorities are committed to conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Parradang’s death and ensuring that justice is served. “
