Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced the appointment of 16 new directors to oversee essential departments within the organisation.
Gatekeepers News reports that these appointments, effective from March 3, were made with the intent of enhancing the bank’s operational efficiency in policy, regulatory, and supervisory areas.
The new directors include:
- Jide-Samuel Avbasowamen as the Director of the Information Technology Department
- Abdullahi Hamisu as the Director of the Banking Services Department
- Ojumu Adenike as the Director of the Medical Services Department
- Makinde Olanrewaju as the Head of the Procurement and Support Services Department
In the finance sector, the following individuals have been appointed:
- Sike Ijeoma as the Director of the Financial Policy and Regulation Department
- Isa-Olatinwo Aisha as the Director of the Consumer Protection Department
- Oboh Victor Ugbem as the Director of the Monetary Policy Department
The leadership of other key departments includes:
- Nakorji Musa heading the Trade and Exchange Department
- Yusuf Rakiya leading the Payments System Supervision Department
- Vincent Modesola overseeing the Strategy Management and Innovation Department
- Farouk Muhammad in charge of the Reserve Management Department
- Akinwunmi Olubukola Akinniyi directing the Banking Supervision Department
Additionally, Solaja Mohammed-Jamiu will manage the Other Financial Institutions’ Supervision Department (OFISD);
- Hassan Umar will lead the Development and Finance Institutions Supervision Department, and
- Adedeji Adetona will guide the Currency Operations and Branch Management Department. Lastly,
- Okpanachi Moses has been appointed as the Head of the Statistics Department.
These changes reflect CBN’s commitment to strengthening its various operations and services.
