Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District, has returned to the National Assembly to resume her legislative duties.
Gatekeepers News reports that upon her arrival, she took her newly allocated seat in accordance with Senate rules.
This new seat allocation has sparked allegations of s3xual harassment against the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio. The President of the Senate has firmly denied these allegations, which have since involved the spouses of both parties and attracted the attention of various women’s groups. Additionally, the situation has resulted in court cases initiated by both sides.
Earlier, the FCT Command of the Nigerian Police Force intervened to disperse a group of demonstrators who gathered at the National Assembly in support of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
During her return to the Senate chamber, she was accompanied by her husband, with the couple sharing a kiss before she collected and signed necessary documents before proceeding into the chamber to assume her new seat.
Meanwhile, she has obtained a court order preventing the Senate from taking any disciplinary action against her.
