National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed bus-loads of expired, falsified, unregistered and banned medicines.
Gatekeepers News reports that NAFDAC in a statement on Sunday, said the medicines, estimated at N100 billion, were seized from Idumota Open Drug Market in Lagos.
The agency noted that the seizures were made over three weeks during a reinforcement operation.
The statement reads, “The destruction took place at the Lapite Dumpsite in Moniya, Ibadan, Oyo State, with the confiscated products valued at an estimated N100 billion.”
“Several suspects were apprehended during the exercise, and those found culpable will face appropriate sanctions.”
