Patrice Motsepe Re-Elected CAF President

Patrice Motsepe, South African billionaire and ninth richest person in Africa, has been re-elected as president of Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Gatekeepers News reports that Motsepe is the founder and chairman of African Rainbow Minerals, a major mining company in South Africa.

Motsepe who is the first South African to lead CAF, had no opposition in his rerun for leading the association for second time.

The billionaire’s re-election was confirmed at CAF 14th extraordinary general assembly on Wednesday in Cairo, Egypt.

Motsepe’s first tenure as president of CAF was between March 2021- 2025. He replaced Ahmad Ahmad who FIFA suspended over financial misappropriation in November 2020.
