Lagos State Police Command has arrested the principal and a teacher from Okota Junior Grammar School following allegations of assault against a 15-year-old student, which resulted in the loss of three of the student’s teeth.
Gatekeepers News reports that the individuals involved have been identified as Kayode Abolarin and Atueyin Martins.
The arrests occurred after the victim’s mother reported the incident to the Isolo Police Division on March 11, 2025, at approximately 11 a.m.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed that the investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
“Upon receiving the report, the police promptly arrested the suspects. They are currently assisting the police in its investigations into the incident which took place on the school premises,” Hundeyin said in a statement on Tuesday.
He assured all that the case would be handled with due diligence and that justice would be served.
“The Lagos State Police Command assures Lagosians that justice will be served, as the suspects will be arraigned accordingly at the conclusion of investigations,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting residents and ensuring swift action against criminal activities.
“The command remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone and will continue to address criminal and security matters with the utmost urgency and professionalism they deserve,” he said.
