Edo State government has announced the recall of its Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Samson Osagie, who has been directed to resumed his duties on March 12, 2025.

Gatekeepers News reports that this decision comes just over a month after Osagie was suspended.

A letter sent to Osagie, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilo, said Governor Monday Okpebholo made the directive following Osagie’s exoneration from serious allegations of official and financial misconduct. These allegations were investigated by a committee formed in February.

Osagie, along with Damian Lawani, the Chairman of the Edo State Local Government Commission, was suspended on February 5 pending the outcome of the investigations into their conduct. However, the recall letter does not provide any details regarding the findings of the investigative report concerning Lawani.
