A person dressed in black shot and set fire to several Tesla vehicles at a repair facility in Las Vegas, prompting an FBI investigation into possible domestic terrorism.
Gatekeepers News reports that Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren described the incident as a “targeted attack” against Tesla.
The attacker, captured on surveillance video, used Molotov cocktails to ignite the fires, with one unexploded device found inside a third car.
No injuries were reported, and the fire department extinguished the fires before they could spread to the vehicles’ batteries.
US Attorney General Pamela Bondi condemned the attack, stating, “The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism.”
Bondi announced that the Department of Justice has already charged several perpetrators and vowed to crack down on vandalism against Tesla vehicles and showrooms.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk denounced the attack on X, saying, “This level of violence is insane and deeply wrong. Tesla just makes electric cars and has done nothing to deserve these evil attacks.”
The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the incident, with Special Agent Spencer Evans warning, “To those who might think that something like this is justifiable or potentially even admirable, we want you to know this is a federal crime.”
