Pro-Natasha Protesters March In Kogi Central

Hundreds of constituents from Kogi Central took to the streets in support of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Gatekeepers News reports that Senator Natasha had after a clash between her and Senate President Godswill Akpabio over a sitting arrangement, accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of s*xually harassing her.

She was suspended on Thursday, March 6 over alleged gross misconduct.

The protests were triggered by recent attempts by certain Kogi central constituents to initiate a recall process against Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Demonstrators carried banners with messages such as “Natasha, Pride of Kogi Central,” “Protect Kogi Central Constituents,” and “We Stand with Natasha.”

The protesters, including men, women, and youths, sang songs in the Ebira language, mocking those advocating for the recall.

The federal high court in Lokoja on Thursday granted an interim injunction preventing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from accepting petitions to recall Akpoti-Uduaghan.

However, on Friday, the court overturned the order, saying it is the civic right of constituents to recall any lawmaker.
