Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arraigned Mamman Ali, son of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman Ahmadu Ali, over an alleged N2.2 billion oil subsidy fraud.
Gatekeepers News reports that Ali was re-arraigned alongside Christian Taylor and Nasaman Oil Services Limited on an amended 57-count charge.
The defendants initially faced a 49-count charge, including conspiracy to obtain money by false pretences, forgery, and use of false documents. However, EFCC prosecutor Seiduh Atteh informed the court of new findings, leading to the amended charges.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The defence counsel, Obafemi Kolade, requested more time to amend their written address in response to the new charges.
The judge, Mojisola Dada, directed the prosecution to file a response before the next hearing, adjourning the case to April 15.
