Edo State Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abuja, has affirmed the victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo in the September 21st governorship election.
Gatekeepers News reports that Godswill Inegbe, Special adviser to the Governor on Communication, Strategy and Media Projects announced this in a statement.
Delivering its judgment, the tribunal dismissed the petition filed by the opposition parties, ruling that they failed to provide substantial evidence to support their claims.
The court said they were unable to prove their allegations beyond a reasonable doubt, reinforcing the legitimacy of Senator Okpebholo’s electoral mandate.
According to Inegbe; the court’s decision marks yet another resounding victory for Senator Okpebholo and his supporters, solidifying his position as the duly elected Governor of Edo State.
The Governor’s aide said the ruling not only validates the will of the people but also underscores the integrity of the electoral process.
He added, “This legal hurdle cleared, Senator Okpebholo is now set to focus on delivering on his campaign promises and driving forward his vision for the development of Edo State.”
