Natasha Osawaru, the lawmaker representing Egor constituency and lover of singer 2Baba, has been removed as the Minority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly.
Gatekeepers News reports that the development follows a shift in the party’s majority status after four Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), granting the latter majority control.
The lawmaker was removed alongside Charity Aiguobarueghian, the former majority leader and Yekini Idaiye, who served as chief whip of the house.
Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko, who are also members of the PDP, however, retained their positions as the speaker and the deputy speaker respectively.
*New Appointments:*
– Ibhamawu Aigbokhan (APC, Esan West) as Majority Leader
– Addeh Isibor (APC, Esan North-East I) as Deputy Leader
– Lecky Hussein Mustapha (APC, Etsako West I) as Chief Whip
The changes came after a letter from Jarret Tenebe, acting chairman of the APC in Edo state, notified the assembly of the party’s new majority status.
Speaker Blessing Agbebaku announced the appointments, stating that the PDP leadership would submit a list of nominees for the remaining principal offices. Agbebaku’s position as speaker and the deputy speaker’s role may also be reviewed.
Natasha Osawaru has been in the spotlight due to her relationship with 2Baba, which became public in January.
The singer proposed to her in February, and she recently updated her Instagram bio to include his surname.
