Yusuf Tuggar, minister of foreign affairs, received Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden in Abuja on Monday.
Gatekeepers News reports that the crown princess is in Nigeria for a three-day official visit aimed at enhancing diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.
Before meeting with Tuggar, Victoria met Vice-President Kashim Shettima at the State House.
Shettima expressed optimism that her visit would open doors to deeper institutional relations and greater cultural exchange between both nations.
In a statement, Tuggar noted that this is the 56th year of diplomatic relations between
Sweden and Nigeria.
The minister said discussions centred around expanded collaborations in trade, green energy, technology, and structured migration.
Andreas Carlson, Swedish minister of infrastructure and housing, was in attendance.
The crown princess was also taken around the Atrium Art Gallery in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She announced the opening of Sweden’s largest innovation hub in Africa, located in Lagos.
