Ibok-Ete Ibas, the sole administrator of Rivers, has approved the appointment of administrators for all 23 local government areas (LGAs) in the state.
Gatekeepers News reports that Justice Adam Muhammed of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, restrained Ibas from appointing administrators to oversee the affairs of local government councils.
The order followed a case filed by PILEX Centre for Civic Education Initiative led by Courage Msirimovu against the Sole Administrator in his official capacity.
In a statement by Ibibia Worika, secretary to the state government (SSG), Ibas noted that the appointments take effect from April 7.
The sole administrator also approved the reconstitution of some boards of agencies, commissions, and parastatals earlier suspended.
The newly appointed LGA officials are Okroiyobi Animiete, Goodluck Iheanacho, Promise Jacob, Tamunotonye Peters, Ibiapuve Charles, Kingsley N. Banigo, Sokari Ibifuro Francis, Gloria Obo-Dibiah, Franklin Ajinwon, among others.
