Troops Kill 100 Bandits – Terrorist Kingpin In Katsina

One (100) suspected bandits have been killed by troops of Nigerian military in a string of operations across Katsina State.

Gatekeepers News reports that Nasir Mua’zu, commissioner for internal security and home affairs announced this in a statement on Friday.

The commissioner said the operations were executed on Thursday, April 10 by officers of Nigerian Army’s 17th Brigade and 213 Forward Operating Base (FOB) of Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

He noted that the operations took place in bandit strongholds in the Mununu Bakai, Zango, Jeka Arera, Malali, and Ruwan Godiya areas of the Kankara and Faskari LGAs.

Mua’zu said Gwaska, a terror kingpin who served as second-in-command to an ISWAP-linked leader, was killed in an assault on Munumu Forest, where he had recently relocated.

The troops also destroyed two machine guns and locally fabricated shotguns during the operations.

Similarly, security forces also raided suspected bandit hideouts at Dutsen Wori on the outskirts of Dandume town at the border with Faskari and Sabuwa LGAs.

Six suspected bandits, including their commander, were killed in the attack, while several others escaped with gunshot wounds.
