Easter: FG Declares Friday – Monday Public Holidays

The federal government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Gatekeepers News reports that Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, minister of interior, announced the holidays in a statement by Magdalene Ajani, the ministry’s permanent secretary.

He congratulated Christians across the country on the celebration of Easter and urged them to reflect on the virtues of love and sacrifice demonstrated by Jesus Christ in his death and resurrection.

Tunji-Ojo encouraged citizens to use the period to pray for peace, unity, and the continued stability of Nigeria.

The minister reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to the renewed hope agenda, stressing the administration’s commitment to national development and prosperity.

Tunji-Ojo called on Nigerians to show love and kindness to one another through generous acts and support.

He wished Christians a joyful Easter celebration and extended warm holiday greetings to all citizens.
