Gunmen have attacked the family residence of Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended senator representing Kogi Central.
Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occured in Obeiba-Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area (LGA) on Tuesday morning.
The senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, revealed that the attackers, armed with firearms and cutlasses, arrived around 1:00 a.m. and vandalised parts of the property,
Security operatives from Okehi swiftly responded to a distress call but no arrests have been made yet.
According to Natasha; the assailants attacked her family home, thinking she was in town, adding that no one was hurt and the gunmen were chased away by officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
She said, “Two days ago, my younger brother took some contractors to my hometown in hima. They inspected locations of the next series of projects I attracted to my senatorial district.”
“The unknown gunmen assumed I was the one in town and that night, attacked my family house.”
“They were chased off by the civil defence team and community members who trouped out en mass.”
“A report was made at the police area command. Nobody was hurt.”
