Rivers State Government has issued a statement condemning the circulation of false announcements attributed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement released on Wednesday and signed by Dede Sampson Friday, the Permanent Secretary for the Special Services Bureau under the Office of the SSG, the government addressed reports alleging that the Sole Administrator of the state had summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, to explain appointments made over the last two years.

The government clarified that such reports were unfounded and did not originate from its office.

Friday urged the public to disregard these false claims and any similar misinformation, attributing them to individuals seeking to destabilize the state.

He emphasised the importance of relying on verified sources for official communications from the Rivers State Government, which are issued solely through established channels. These include the official government website, recognised social media accounts, official press releases from the Office of the Governor and the SSG, as well as accredited traditional media outlets.

Residents are encouraged to verify any information before sharing it and to depend exclusively on official government sources for accurate updates.
