Ogun State Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport has reached 97% completion, with the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) completing essential runway checks and flight procedure validations, the State Governor Dapo Abiodun announced.

Gatekeepers News reports that NAMA team recently visited the airport for flight checks and procedure validation.

The NAMA team, led by Engr. Miri Selzing, Manager, Flight Calibration Services, conducted a thorough assessment of the airport’s infrastructure and expressed satisfaction with the quality and speed of the project’s execution. They also commended the airport’s 4-kilometre runway, the longest in the country, and the well-equipped terminal building.

The NAMA team successfully conducted the “23 and 05” checks and identified the necessary waypoints, a key milestone towards final approval for commercial operations. The airport is now 97% complete, with facilities including a control tower, air traffic control systems, and fire safety units.

Governor Abiodun expressed gratitude to the NAMA team for their technical support and encouragement, stating that the state remains committed to making the Gateway International Airport a major hub for cargo and passenger traffic in Nigeria.
